Macon Love RFC

About Us

The Macon Love R.F.C. began in the summer of 1999 when several members of a struggling Georgia College club and old-timers from the defunct Macon Cadillacs R.F.C. combined their efforts to establish a rugby club in the Middle Georgia Area. Macon currently competes in the Georgia Rugby Union.

The Macon R.F.C. took five players to its first "sevens" tournament in Greensboro, NC. The roster grew to six and later seven players at the next two tournaments before taking 19 players down to Tallahassee at the end of the summer.

Macon posted a 5-2 record in its inaugural season in the fall of 1999 and the success continues as recently as the fall of 2005 when the club posted a perfect 7-0 record.

Over the years the team has been made up of players from Macon, Milledgeville, Perry, Warner Robins, Gray and several other Middle Georgia communities. The age of players has ranged from 19-48 years old with varying occupations, including military personnel, lawyers, educators, doctors, roofers, E.M.T.'s and various labor workers.

The Macon R.F.C. is always looking for new players.
